🕷️👀 #InternationalJumpingSpiderDay! I'm leaping into the celebration, honoring these tiny, mighty creatures 🕸️💨. Mr. Snuffles is... well, let's just say he's not a fan of spiders, but I'm educating him on their awesomeness 🦖🕷️ #JumpingSpiderAppreciation #NoodleEducation #SpiderSquad <3 poolnoodle

Photo of a very big fluffy white, black, and red jumping spider, Phidippus adumbratus. It is standing on some dead buckwheat flowers and looking at the viewer.

Photo of a little shiny gold buttonhook leaf beetle jumping spider. It is standing on a yellow flower and looking toward the viewer.
Some of my favorite little guys for #InternationalJumpingSpiderDay ! I love them and how they just stand there and look at you.

p.s. I've tried to find it again, but no luck yet.
Second, for #InternationalJumpingSpiderDay, I still have a beloved mystery on my hands. This spider, of which I've photographed three individuals now on Rota, is an undescribed species (thanks to Prof. Alex Kerr, U. of Guam, for confirming). I am obsessed. So beautiful & bronze! 🕷️🧪🌏 #invertebrates
Loose digital sketch of a Phidippus johnsoni on a leaf, caught in a sunbeam that makes his vivid green chelicerae glow in the light in contrast to his black body and red abdomen.
Commissioned portrait of a Phidippus californicus immature female on a stalk of Swiss chard. She is covered in fine tan hair as she peers inquisitively toward the viewer. She has long black hairs above the eyes at the corners of her head which look like eyelashes.
Loose digital sketch of Maratus constellatus, a peacock spider with an abdomen that looks like a starry night sky. He stands with hind legs posed upward in a courtship display.
Digital illustration of a Habronattus americanus on a giant red christmas ornament. His red and white face, with bushy white pedipalps, makes him reminiscent of a tiny Santa Claus.
It's #InternationalJumpingSpiderDay !!! one of the best days. You could say it's a 10 out of 10 day.
First, you all get some jumping spider art. I need to do even more, I know. 🎨🐡🕷️ #invertebrates

Phidippus texanus found at a friend's ranch.
#InternationalJumpingSpiderDay began in 2017 to show the cutest and most adorable spiders as a way for people to embrace instead of fear spiders.

Little grey salticid boy, with a bright red top of his head. Big black eyes peering up at you, as he waits on an oak leaf
Extremely tiny full-grown salticid perched on the head of a gold pin which is dwarfing him 10:1. He's black, with white palps, and orange legs
Little red ant mimic salticid peering up at you, grooming one leg in her chelicerae
Dark brown lumpy salticid with stripy legs, and big shy eyes peering up at you like she knows she's very small
So there's a thing called #InternationalJumpingSpiderDay? Why not 🖤
Here's a few lesser known friends being tiny and adorable. In order of appearance: naphrys xerophila, neonella camillae, synemosyna formica, and attidops cinctipes
