A single-engine propeller aircraft (Daher TBM 930) sits stationary on a paved runway with yellow centerlines. Its landing gear is deployed, and the aircraft’s nose points directly toward the viewer. The plane’s bright landing lights are illuminated, casting sharp beams across the dark asphalt surface. The surrounding environment features snow-covered mountains stretching across the horizon, with a dense forest of evergreen trees on the right side. Above, the sky displays a gradient from warm orange and yellow hues near the horizon—suggesting sunrise or sunset—to deeper, darker clouds higher up, interspersed with patches of blue. The ground is blanketed in snow, with the runway’s surface showing subtle texture and wear. The overall scene conveys a quiet, wintry atmosphere with the plane positioned on the tarmac, ready for departure.
A small single-engine propeller aircraft with extended wings and illuminated navigation lights flies at low altitude, angled slightly toward a reflective waterway. The plane’s landing gear is retracted, and its silhouette is visible against a hazy sky that transitions from deep gray at the top to a warm orange near the horizon. To the right, a wide expanse of water mirrors the orange glow, bordered by a snow-covered or icy terrain with subtle ridges and patterns. The scene conveys low visibility conditions, possibly during dawn or dusk, with the aircraft traversing a cold, wintry landscape where the sky’s muted colors blend with the reflective water and frozen ground.
A small white propeller-driven aircraft with a red stripe and dark tail fin, marked with the word "TBM 930" on its vertical stabilizer, flies at high altitude over a sprawling snowy landscape. The plane is banked slightly, moving from left to right, with its shadow visible on the snow-covered terrain below. Below the plane, the terrain consists of frozen rivers and lakes, interspersed with patches of snow, while a dense layer of low-lying clouds stretches across the horizon. The sky above transitions from a warm orange near the horizon to a clear blue higher up, suggesting a sunrise or sunset. The overall scene depicts a remote, icy region viewed from above, with the aircraft positioned to the right of the frame, cutting through the soft light of the setting or rising sun.
A small single-engine airplane with a white fuselage and red tail section flies horizontally above a snowy landscape. The aircraft has fixed wings extending outward and is positioned slightly left of center in the frame. It travels through an aerial view of a massive, snow-covered mountain range marked by glacial ridges and deep crevasses. Below the plane, a large, dark lake with a deep brown hue dominates the lower portion of the scene, bordered by winding rivers that cut through the icy terrain. The sky glows with a warm orange light, casting a soft illumination over the snow, suggesting either dawn or dusk. The overall setting conveys a remote, pristine wilderness with the airplane providing a sense of scale against the vast, wintry environment.
Akureyri BIAR → Ísafjarðarflugvöllur BIIS
Landing at BIIS was a real challenge for me. The “Short” in “Short Final” takes on a whole new meaning here. Still, it worked out nicely, and the scenery along the way was amazing!
