Wandered past the Sign of the Angel in Lacock: a Tudor dream turned restaurant with rooms. Said to be haunted by a kindly old owner… though one carpet fitter in 1980 didn’t think so. He fled and never came back. I didn’t go in. Maybe next time…

A 1225 #MagnaCarta was held at Lacock Abbey until 1944 when it was gifted to the nation by Matilda Talbot. It can now be seen @britishlibrary.bsky.social while a facsimile made for Lacock Abbey and part of the #Lacock #archive can be seen at the History Centre.

An old - probably Edwardian - painted plaster wall plaque depicting several half-timbered buildings on Church Street in Lacock in Wiltshire with the "Sign of the Angel" inn on the center right. The name "Lacock" is written at the base of the plaque.
Going out on a limb here without a film title, but the National Trust village of Lacock was the location for several films and TV series including Harry Potter, Pride & Prejudice, Downton Abbey, Cranford, The Hollow Crown and Wolf Hall.

I took this a few years ago when I had the pleasure of staying for a short while in Lacock in Wiltshire. There are plenty of doors in the village that take your breath away but this one was a highlight for me.
