Next stop on my road trip through history was #LindisfarneCastle!
The castle was built in the 1540s but the interior is presented by the @nationaltrust.org.uk as it would have looked in the early 20th century after the owner of ‘Country Life’ magazine bought and renovated the castle.
It’s a must do for any Holy Island visit - watching a Lindisfarne Castle sun rise. There is a palpable change in atmosphere as the sun emerges on the horizon to signal the start of a new day.
