Lone Fir Cemetery is a gorgeous outdoor museum I enjoy walking through as it's just blocks from my house. Even walking those few blocks has been challenging, but I'm proud of myself for making it there yesterday and enjoying the foliage, artful grave markers and peace. 🙏

Sign outside of the Lone Fir Cemetery in Portland, OR. The sign reads:

—————

WIPE YOUR FEET!
Are you giving ghosts a free ride?

When you walk over their graves, the ghosts who reside there can cling to your shoes, then come off later and haunt where they are unwanted.

Help protect this fragile boundary between the land of the living and the spirits of the dead - don't accidentally introduce invasive ghosts.

PLEASE USE GHOST BRUSH BEFORE LEAVING THE CEMETERY

Thank you,

The Ghost Brush sign in the other photo is attached to a pole with a shoe brush at the bottom to facilitate the removal of spirits who may have clung to your shoes during your visit to the cemetery.

Circular sticker that that resembles the tip of the pyramid from the back of an US $1 bill, which is itself a smaller detached pyramid with an eye inside of it that is looking out at the viewer of the image. Above the pyramid it says “Creeping Hard” in reference to the artist, @creepincreepin.bsky.social, and below it says “Invoice We Trust” as a play on the “In God We Trust” found in the back of US currency. The sticker is a red back around with white text and is placed on a sign with the same color design, helping the sticker blend in slightly with the sign it was placed on. Found near the Lone Fir Cemetery in the Buckman neighborhood of Portland, OR, on March 17th, 2018.

Lone Fir Cemetery is such a beautiful and important place. It has over 25 thousand graves and the first burial happened in 1846. I love coming here any time of the year, but in Autumn it especially pops with all the colors of the leaves changing with the season. #portland #oregon #lonefircemetery
