Roman pool with mural of fish on a blue background - I like to think of them as flying fish in the sky. The excavation and reconstruction at Carnuntum are awesome; the small dwelling they rebuilt I would take any day as a place to live, so beautiful. I find Carnuntum is a place where one can truly imagine how people lived there. It's so close to Vienna, reachable even by railroad, under an hour!
