At the precincts of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu. Bonbori from MATSUI Yūsei's ‘The Elusive Samurai’ have been dedicated to the shrine. Bonbori are traditional Japanese lighting fixtures surrounded by four sides of Japanese paper to protect them from the wind, with candles or oil burned inside to provide light. This traditional Bonbori Matsuri (Japanese Paper Lantern Festival), held since 1938, lights the shrine with around 400 hand-painted lanterns by notable artists.
