2 ply, opposing singles. One single is green, the other is mostly blue. Single A is Z-spun. Single B is S-spun. The singles were plied S. Initially, the freshly-spun-and-plied Yarn was *very* kinky. Plenty of over-spun (over plied?) Little pigtails all over the yarn. I was worried. The knit sample pictured in the book looked quite balanced. I knit up tje sample, prior to soaking it. I felt like I was basically knitting two singles, held together. The singles weren't grabbing onto each other, at all. I decided to hold fibal conclusions until after it had been soaked and dried. I dont normally thwack my yarns bit did it this time, to slightly full/felt the yarn and encourage the singles to meld together. I feel like soaking and thanking helped, as the pictured yarn has much fewer pigtails. I do plan on knitting it up into a sample, once a few WIPS are completed.

Beautiful 3-ply soft wool yarn, in shades of purple.
Spun this up as a gift to a friend. Merino/silk? Or maybe polworth/silk. I was aiming for DK but ended up with more of a fingering/heavy fingering.

I’ve found a solution to two things that bugged me about the otherwise fabulous #majacraft #Spinningwheel : 1. The bobbin didn’t fill up at the end close to the whorl 2. There was quite a bit of rattling going on with the bobbin while spinning. A very thick felt washer helped to fill the bobbin 1/

Yesterday I installed the lace flyer on my #majacraft #spinningwheel - it came with the wheel I bought second hand. I had to use oil and a bit of force to get the whorl changed, but luckily I got there in the end. All good now. I’m liking the wheel better with this flyer I think. Feels less jiggly 🧶

Plied one bobbin of my 150g of rather robust Gotland/Shetland cross, fibre was gently washed to preserve quite a bit of the lanolin. I’m happy with my new-to-me #Majacraft Suzie wheel. One thing that bugs me: the flyer arms are a bit short, there’s a gap that doesn’t fill at the end. #handspun 🧶
