Kukeri Wines Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon 2021, California Inky in color with a short reddish rim. Fruity nose of black fruits with cedar, licorice, earth, vegetables, spices, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppercorn and eucalyptus. Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs. Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, spices, oak, licorice, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs, light vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn. Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries. This 5 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley feels more like a Left Bank Bordeaux. An interesting wine out of Stags Leap District. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Complex and engaging. Rich and fruit forward, elegant and tangy. Good right out of the bottle, and better after 90 minutes of airtime. Really enjoyed the nose once it opened up. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Delicious by itself as a sipping wine and with food. A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot, 4% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec. A small production of only 75 cases. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 92 points. $85.

Oakville Winery DDR 2022, Napa Valley, California Dark ruby in color with medium plus intensity and a wide reddish rim. Fruity nose with red and blue fruits, light wood, coffee, oregano, dark chocolates, earth and light spices. Medium plus in body with medium acidity. Dry and fruity on the palate with cherries, plums, currants, light oak, spices, chocolates, licorice and light black pepper. Medium length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries. This is a very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley. Nicely balanced and complex. Rich and fruit forward. Delicate and engaging. Elegant and easy drinking right out of the bottle, and much better after 2 hours in the decanter. Showing a very pretty nose once it opens up. This Single Vineyard Red Blend will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years. I had the 2021 vintage a year ago and it is very consistent. Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food. A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, 10% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot. 14.1% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $50.

Nose of black currants, blackberries, black cherries, cedar, coffee, toast, light vanilla, dark chocolates, peppercorn, licorice, light earth, herbs and spices. Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs. Dry on the palate with cooked plums, currants, cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs and peppercorn. Long finish with medium tannins and tangy cherries. This is a young Bordeaux blend from Yountville in Napa Valley. Rich and extracted. Dense and fruit forward. Chewy and interesting. This Single Vineyard is very dry right out of the bottle, and better after 90 minutes of airtime. Nicely balanced and complex. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Good by itself or with food. A blend of 51% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Malbec. 14.2% alcohol by volume. 92 points. $80.

Strong nose of black fruits with light cedar, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, cola, herbs and spices. Medium plus in body with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, black plums, cedar, tobacco leaf, light earth, coffee, herbs, dark chocolates, black tea, peppercorn and cola. Long finish with no tannins and tangy cherries. This is a delicious 10-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon from Walla Walla Valley. Rich and fruit forward. Complex and nicely balanced. Good right out of the bottle and didn't evolve much with air, even after after 2 hours. Wine Enthusiasts 90 points. I had this vintage 7 years ago, and it is so much better now. Probably a little past its peak, but delicious nonetheless. A little flat at this point, but very tasty. I love these Cabernet based Bordeaux blends. Easy drinking and a great sipping wine. A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot. Aged in (28% new) French Oak barrels. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 92 points. $45 (current vintage).

Nice length on the finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries. This is a young Cabernet Franc from Mendoza. Rich and extracted with lots of earth and vegetable notes. Needs 5 years in the bottle to mature, but already drinking nicely. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Complex and interesting enough to drink by itself. A good food wine too, that will pair nicely with lamb dishes. 100% Cabernet Franc grapes were aged for 18 months in (50% new) French Oak barrels. 13.5% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $50.

Nice finish with grippy tannins and tangy cherries. This is a very interesting red blend from Red Mountain. Powerful and fruit forward. Needs a couple of hours to open up properly, so be patient. Feels young, especially on the palate and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Nicely balanced, and good by itself or with food. A blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Malbec and 20% Syrah. 13.1% alcohol by volume. 89 points. $59.
