For as long as I've been here, my worldbuilding has been about expanding on Theryl, the fictional world I've been building up since highschool. It's gone through many revisions, but now I'm slowly bringing it to life with y book series: The Seeker Saga.

I originally started to build Gaia for TTRPG 20+ years ago and when I started tinkering with book ideas I kind of merged the two so I didn't have to build two different worlds. I don't have the bandwidth for that.

It's for my books! My main project is my Bloodmaster series, but I'm always working on new stuff on the side. Once I retire (if life on Earth lasts that long) I might branch out to other formats.

My #1 world-building tip: use Trello.
Project mgmt tool, simple but effective way of organizing your lore. invaluable to my writing process. Helped turn me into an outliner (+more productive writer)

At the end of the day it's for my novel series, but I have to be *very* careful because there are often times where it's for its own sake. I love worldbuilding. I love how many possibilities for plots, characters, etc. are inherent in it. I love unseen details. ❤️

I guess I build it up to flesh out my story universe. It's a long series, so I like to fill in the empty space and cracks with as many fun little lore bits as possible. It's not always entirely cohesive but I love the world I'm building and the many books that take place in it.
