William Powell is just fantastic as 'Doc' in ‘Mr. Roberts’. It was his last film role and he should have been nominated for a Best Supporting Oscar. Lemmon won it deservedly, but Powell plays off Fonda and a young Lemmon like an old pro. He’s so good it hurts.
