I was very lucky to be part of this amazing book. I've co-authored a piece on natural history collections and climate change with Martha Fleming (Natural History Museum of Denmark) as part of @collecol.bsky.social. Looking forward to finally seeing it in print! ✨🌿 #nathist #envhist #collections
If you missed the @sochistnathist.bsky.social Early Career Symposium last week, videos of 8 of the presentations are now available to watch online: www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...
Check out these up and coming scholars and their exciting new work!

In anticipation of tonight's big game, here's a Superb Owl from @ransomcenter.bsky.social's digital collections. This pastel drawing was created by Frank Reaugh, sometimes called the “Dean of Texas Artists."

Love following @bionomia.net & today is my lucky day! I've been working on Drège for several years now - he's a super interesting commercial collector who only left scant archival traces that I've been slowly piecing together 🌿 #nathist #envhist #envhum
Surprise publication day! Earlier than anticipated, you can now read my #firstbook (digital version in #openaccess) or order a printed copy through the link. Official announcement and info on book presentation event coming soon!

More unboxing!
💫What a privilege to be at the Unboxing Skeat @maacambridge.bsky.social & #HPS event. Photos are not enough to tell all we saw! Boxes sealed in 1970 were finally re-opened!
What a richness!💫 so many questions!

The styracosaurus rears onto his hind legs and bellows triumphantly. His lifetime of experience has bought him a little more time on this world.
Obligatory victory screech. #PathofTitans #PoT #NatHist
The hatzegopteryx is wounded and bleeding heavily. With what little strength he has left he abandons the hunt and flees to safety while the bull styracosaurus can only glare angrily down below.
Turned out he wasn't that hungry after all. #PathofTitans #PoT #NatHist
The hatzegopteryx appears to be young and inexperienced. It's attacks are clumsy and glance off the styracosaur's scarred hide. But the old bull lands it's blow with his two foot long nasal horn, drawing first blood.
Little known fact about styracosaurs: They all think you have too much blood and not enough holes. #PathofTitans #PoT #NatHist
Styracosaurus suddenly turns and goes on the attack! The hatzegopteryx narrowly avoids the old bull's charge.
¡Olé! #PathofTitans #PoT #NatHist
Styracosaurus lacks the bulk and brute strength of it's larger cousins, but makes up for it with superior agility. It keeps it's distance from it's pursuer and waits for the right moment to strike!
"I'm not retreating. I'm advancing! Towards FUTURE VICTORY!" #PathofTitans #PoT #NatHist
The sound of leathery wings flapping in the distance announce the arrival of a hatzegopteryx, a giant pterosaur! The flying beast swoops out of the sky intent on making a meal of the styracosaurus.
*Cue the Pokemon battle theme* Hatzegopteryx wants to battle! #PathofTitans #PoT #NatHist
A lone bull styracosaurus wanders through the savannah. His face and frill are brightly colored with a green pattern and white eye spots. Numerous scars can be seen on his face and body indicating he is a survivor of many conflicts.
My styracosaurus, Shank Hill, has so many scars. He's like the living embodiment of "you should see the other guy." #PathofTitans #PoT #NatHist

Exactly, Siobhan. So much work still to do to identify all the people who „del.“-ed & sculpt.“-ed & thus contributed enormously to our knowledge of #NatHist . Connecting @biodivlibrary.bsky.social to DSI would be fab, for example or to current #NatHistHumanities research on such contributors.
This is an amazing opportunity, indeed.

Quick question for #histSTM & #histsci friends: My coworkers are looking for books featuring color illustrations of #trees (watercolor, lithograph, etc.)
Not isolated leaves/branches as in your typical sylva--full trees! Any ideas? (Bonus points if they're in LHL's collection!)
