Did I get to hand feed a young murder bird in Highfeild Park yesterday?…

A gorgeous stroll with ice cream, this wee one, squirrel watching, rabbit spotting, wild larpers, blackbirds, and teeny fish.

(Robin came close three times, but wasn’t sure of other people)

Unfiltered, snapped through the bus window, the sky is doing all the work this morning.

Sunday morning was a festival of glistening webs in the mist. I was enjoying them too much to think of photos until waiting at the bus stop 🕸️

Look at this lil one! I couldn’t help but see the black and green as it headed towards the road. Very unconcerned to trundle onto my sleeve, be carried down and across the road, and to the trees.

It’s a Pale Tussock, which is as wonderful in Moth form.

Between Tarbet and Arrochar, even just from the path there’s mind resetting moments.

Already looking forward to next year there.

So many butterflies! Walker around various parts of Hope Valley for three days or so, I felt like clouds of butterflies kept appearing. This butterfly bush was aptly busy, more wing than leaf.

Moss! Today you have a #naturewalktothebus from my adventures in the Dark Peak, because look at this luscious greenery, quietly and determinedly thriving atop the gritstone.

It rests when resources are rare, and fills with water to an amazing degree when available. Tenacious little system.

A view from the garden, as there’s evidence of very enthusiastic Thrushes. Areas of the garden are a bit wild, which gives good hiding spots for a lot of snails under low plants and around a low wall. That is then good for the birds. *Badly sings Circle of Life*

Four barrows, and the view from atop one of them. Basically four lowish humps by a field. But also thousands of years of human engagement with the landscape and death. Marvellous space.

A beautiful Saturday afternoon in England in June. Aldbourne village pond, just as the water lilies are blooming.

A different #NatureWalkToTheBus, it’s nature I’ve brought inside. These roses wholly scent a space, and the rose bush cheerfully blooms for a couple of months, huge soft orbs. The irises reappeared a couple of years ago when I cleared undergrowth and was rewarded with a bank of unexpected purple.

Took my old walk to the bus this morning. Hoped to see screaming sky devils at that bus stop, as I saw three in the village last night. No, but the wild raspberries are coming on.

I built a little rock garden type thing last year, just a couple of large stones, with a new plant bedded in and cuttings from some existing plants, plus some moss. They have taken really well, spreading and flowing like mad this year.

Very satisfying.

Blossom pigeons.

If I could, on a grey morning like today, I’d sit somewhere this pretty and watch the world go by.

So much lighter in the mornings 🌞
Today enjoy a view from the bus, soundtrack provided by gentle and peaceful snores from the back row. It's sort of restful as a background sound.
