Happy Wednesday all. Today's picture is a male yellow-rumped warbler (Setophaga coronata). Not great picture-he is kind of at one with the tree. But I don't see these guys a lot so I get a picture when I can. San Benito County, California.

Happy Saturday friends... the warbler theme continues with this Bay-breasted warbler I caught in May. As a friend once described, the bird's breeding wardrobe seems to be one formed by committee π #birds #birdingOh #wildlife #naturephotography #Baybreasted #Newworldwarblers #warblers #BWIAB

Happy #WarblerWednesday friends... Still processing images taken in May and found the queen of subtle beauty, a female Black-throated Blue--who looks nothing like her male counterpart, save for a white "handkerchief" on her wing. #birds #ohbirding #wildife #naturephotography #NewWorldWarblers
π Bay-breasted warbler (Setophaga castanea) The bay-breasted warbler is a small songbird with a striking appearance, especially in breeding males who sport a black face, chestnut crown, throat, and flanks, with a grayish back and white wingbars. Females are paler. They breed in boreal spruce-fir forests across central and eastern Canada and the far northern U.S. In winter, they migrate to wet lowland forests of Panama and northern South America, passing through the eastern U.S. during migration. Bay-breasted warblers primarily forage for insects and spiders by gleaning from tree branches, often in the mid-canopy.
