This image shows the interior of St Michael & All Angels Church in Barton-le-Street. The church was completely rebuilt in the Norman style in 1871, designed by Perkin and Son. It features a remarkable collection of Norman sculptures, including chancel arch capitals and a frieze high on the chancel wall. The colorful organ case, seen on the right, was designed by the Yorkshire architect Temple Moore.
A notable feature is the medieval pillar piscina located to the right of the altar. Image: Barton-le-Street, St. Michael and All Angels Church: The chancel from the pulpit by Michael Garlick CC BY-SA 2.0
