My thumb is numb. Will be for about 4 hrs. 2nd injection to relieve trigger thumb. My #orthopedist isn't optimistic. Seems like #surgery is in nigh. It's a 10-minute #outpatient procedure under local anesthetic, so scheduling around it should be a snap. Didn't realize how much I used my left hand.

Thanks. Another problem for me is I vastly prefer #inpatient to #outpatient work, hard to find a #Geriatrics job that doesn’t involve #clinic. I prefer things like #consults or something like GEM (geriatrics evaluation and management) at VA, but I know being Goldilocks in this #economy is impossible

Oh I completely agree. #Rheumatology was actually on my specialty short list when I was in residency, I loved the #inpatient consults, but as someone who anticipated being full-time clinical the #outpatient practices were absolutely brutal. Upwards of 40+ complex patients/day, chronic pain, etc

I was 100% inpatient for the first ~4 years as an attending then got burned out doing that during #COVID, managing heated high flow 50L O2 vents on general floors, etc - but yeah, #outpatient is hard. I just miss the days when I took care of cute old ladies with simple UTIs/pneumonia on the wards 😢

Did 8 patient notes between yesterday and today, so I'm only 24 hours or...10 notes behind 🤦‍♀️

Yeah, I'm the same way, I have kind of gone out of my way doing #outpatient work entirely because of the notes, I enjoy the patient interaction, but I am very inefficient with the documentation. #Inpatient is easier in some ways.
