There is a site obviously created by AI that is pretending to be a continuation of Pitch Wars. It is not, has nothing to do with anyone involved in #pitchwars, and looks quite scammy. Please beware & tell your friends.

An illustrated ghost in a beanie and sunglasses is typing a manuscript on the left side of the title. Rule #1: ALL Positive Posts from Judges are About You! Is one of the judges gushing about the most amazing manuscript they’ve ever seen? It was yours. Did one mention that they literally laughed out loud at the last entry they read? Obviously yours. They said they’re reading the best paranormal romance ever written, and you submitted a historical thriller? Still yours!! Every positive post that comes from one of the judges is a secretly-coded love letter written just for you. Because You Are Awesome.

An illustrated ghost in a beanie and sunglasses is typing a manuscript on the left side of the title. Rule #2: ALL “Negative” Posts from Judges are About SOMEONE ELSE! Second-guessing your entry at this point doesn’t help anyone. Yes, the judges will post helpful hints and tips as they read through the entries. These are valuable tips, but now is not the time to worry about that. They are NEVER about you (for now)! File these helpful tips away for later. Save screenshots of the posts that feel like they could be about you to a folder you’ll look at later, but don’t dwell on them. Right now, remember: They’re talking about someone else.

The #EgoClub is a fabulous place to visit, but you won’t grow if you live here always. No matter how you did in this contest, take time to re-evaluate. SOME of the posts were about you after all (even if they really weren’t). That tip about recommended word count ranges might fix the manuscript you abandoned last year. The hints about character motivation might bring focus to your WiP that got a little off track. Apply the advice that fits your current project. File the rest away for later. It’s bound to come in handy on your next ms—or the one after that!

Everyone needs a boost from time to time, including you. Find the encouraging posts that really spoke to you, and save them for future reference, alongside those you saved for rule #3. You WILL have down days, when you doubt your voice (everyone does, and that’s okay). When those days appear, come back to the #EgoClub and Remember that YOU ARE AWESOME. And if you have trouble remembering this, just ask Veronica Bartles. She’ll tell you!
Looks like it's time to dust off my #EgoClub rules for Online Pitch Contests!! I established these rules back in the olden days of #KidLit Twitter (in the time of #PitchWars & #PitMad). Updated slightly for Bluesky, but the rules still apply. #EgoClub is the best way to read #PBParty judges' posts!!
I haven’t used BlueSky in a really long time but redownloaded the app today & will be using it to find and maintain connections with other authors, especially #KidLit & #MG writers, #Novel19s, Hollins Children’s Lit MFA ppl, #PitchWars ppl, teachers, librarians, booksellers, LGBTQIA+ community, etc.
Ive written 25,000 word books and for the longest time I was suppose to boil books down to an elevator pitch at #pitchwars.
This was...imeasurably frusterating.
7/7 Currently finalizing the manuscript and beginning the query process in February. It's a story of generational trauma, but more importantly about the people who help us break those cycles. Literary agents can DM for more info. #QueryLife #WritingCommunity #PitchWars

Hello writers!
The only things that I'll miss about twitter (it will never be X to me) are #pitchwars. Wonder if they'll ever start here. Fingers crossed.
Sharing a starter pack for the #PitchWars 2017 mentees. Please let me know if you wanted to be added (or removed) from this list. go.bsky.app/3JSDSFk

Whelp, no #PitchWars mentorship for me. I’m actually pretty okay with it though, as a lot of stuff hopped onto my plate lately, and I was already feeling overwhelmed. Gonna push forward with my book at my own pace, and hopefully query before too long.
There’s something really special about reading a manuscript that you can’t put down nor want to. I’m doing that with 3 #pitchwars mss this weekend! THREE!!
Congrats to the #PitchWars mentees! It was my first time applying & I was gratified & excited to get a MS request, although it was not to be for me this time. Good luck with the editing everyone & I hope to see more great books next year. 👍🏻
No, nope, no way, not me, uh-uh.
I am not, repeat, *not* checking my emails every few minutes now that the #PitchWars submission window has closed.
Not.
Mostly not.
Sometimes not.
Umm...
#PitchWars submitted!
Huge thanks to the awesome @JHunterDeLeon for great feedback on my query letter & synopsis! Feeling really good going into #PitchWars now.
Loving the wonderful & helpful #WritingCommunity. I’ve had nothing but encouragement & support. Cheers all!
Spent the morning scanning the #PitchWars mentors' wish lists and now have 4 candidates in mind, god help them.
Is it just me or does #PitchWars seem something like #TheVoice but without the general public voting and, you know, no singing..?
I followed a shipload of mentors last night in preparation for #PitchWars & now I’m apparently a Bad Robot.
I like a comment, Twitter slaps my hand & takes it back.
I am shamed. 😞
I’m thinking of having a bash at #PitchWars. Doesn’t seem like I’ve got anything to lose, considering I #amquerying anyway.
Anyone else up for it?
Any advice from seasoned pros?
A gentle reminder that even #PitchWars rejects like me can get published by fancy publishing houses. ❤️
A gentle reminder that being brave enough to send out your stories for #amquerying and #PitchWars is terrifying and does not preclude you from then hiding in a closet with a stash of chocolates and wine and “meditating” there most of the day.
Ok, have a friend doing #PitchWars ... what’s the best way to support?
We #writerscommunity are on #querying because of #pitchwars
1. If you get a full request, your query and first pages=good
2. If you get a pass with feedback, really consider it.
3. If you hear “didn’t connect with...” that’s not feedback; it’s just not a good fit.
4. KEEP GOING
My #PitchWars mentee @JenEgan72 pitch is live. I’m so proud of her.
