This is our local Arctic migrant, called the "Snow Bunting" here; I find it amazing that birds migrate to Hokkaido, but its the same dynamic here-- Wisconsin is a southern home for Arctic migrants during winter which I think is amazing.

Snow buntings (Plectrophenax nivalis)! I've seen them around the previous years but this is the first spring that I've seen them on my birdfeeder. They are probably on their way to Svalbard/Spitsberger.
