I am once again trying to learn if there is an advantage to using Docker to manage install PreTeXt locally over just managing the local installation myself. If I have everything set up already, there's no reason to move this to Docker, right?
#PreTeXtGang
The good news is that MathJax makes it really easy to put math in HTML.
And for larger documents, the #PreTeXtGang is there to make it (relatively) easy to make your HTML, and get PDF, too
If you're interested in building interactive visuals or guided activities in your math classes, you should check out this free webinar about Doenet!
I've loved using it in classes this year. Check out beta.doenet.org for examples, or I can show some of mine.
(Especially relevant for #PreTeXtGang)
#PreTextGang - I'm using the PreText CLI (for a pretext course, my first one!), but it can't find my pelican installation. Is there a troubleshooting guide somewhere?

Wow, a lot of you want to learn more about the #PreTeXtGang! We'll run another @mathtech.org workshop for y'all soon, I promise!
I should add, I started using GitHub in a panic when we first deployed a local copy of a #PreTeXtGang math book. A couple days before the semester started, I discovered that “our” department server had been shut down. At this point I’m mostly afraid of breaking something I once lucked in to.
Hey #PreTeXtGang ... is there a handy reference for whether/how PreTeXt meets Title II accessibility criteria?

Hey #PreTeXt #PreTeXtGang - any way to deploy a pretext course project with an index.html landing page?

Plugging CheckIt and #PreTeXtGang in my talk:
I have an old mathbookml project I'm trying to help a colleague use and wondering at best approach. Just getting started so maybe my questions aren't formulated right but wanted first steps in the right direction.

I would not hate that! They should note that embedded sagecells is also something that moved me to join #PreTeXtGang via the TBIL LA text library.tbil.org/2025/linear-... cc @drew-lewis.com @clontz.org
Think I've finally recruited another faculty member in the dept to join the #PreTeXtGang! Thanks to everyone with cool books and projects that I have constantly been showing people
That was exactly my take. The poor accessibility office that has to try and somehow make a braille version of this... (Cough #PreTeXtGang)
Very appreciative of this:
Thanks #PreTeXtGang (workshoppers, especially developers, and especially especially @oscarlevin.com)!

Lighting the #PreTeXtGang bat signal. I'm working in a Docker container on my local machine. I can save and commit changes to my local repo but not push them to github, or deploy to github pages. The error I get is "Git: cannot run ssh: No such file or directory".
My students think I'm some sort of wizard because I conjure screenshots of notes and activities from #PreTeXtGang and annotate them on my tablet as I talk directly to them. These notes appear on eight different screens in the room so everyone gets the view they need. And I feel like one too. 🧙♀️
Starting shit with Robert Beezer by tossing a #pretextgang hashtag on this.
#PreTeXtGang and #OER, if you use guided notes alongside your OER project, how do you prepare those? I’m struggling with wanting to do more consistent ‘book form’ (while keeping notes fluid/flexible), and not duplicating work, introducing mistakes, or getting out of sync.
Toronto bound; stopping at the Fields Institute tomorrow to tell them about the #PreTeXtGang
Wrote a blog for @mathtech.org on how #PreTeXtGang 's features can facilitate active learning and novel forms of inquiry!

Hey #pretextgang. Admit that you actually enjoy misery and suffer that people endure while searching anything on internet related to #pretext. What was wrong with the name mathbook?
This all came from my #PreTeXtgang inquiry text!
