Shame none of the @quaternaryra.bsky.social #QRA2026ADM keynotes and presentations are online, just the abstract book and posters πŸ™„

those from @abistone.bsky.social and @andydoggerbank.bsky.social look very interesting.

What did paleogeography in these two different locations look like ?

Thank you so much to the #QRA2026ADM team for enabling online attendance - we clearly missed out on a fab dinner and all the in-person fun, but great to remotely listen to all the lovely #quaternary science @quaternaryra.bsky.social #EDI. And thanks to all the people posting on bluesky! πŸ‘πŸ§ͺ🦣

Next, Holly Addis on their project mapping peat depth across the Isle of Lewis. Peat covers much of the northern plateau of Lewis, is up to 7m deep and represents a huge carbon sink as well as an economic resource.
But so little known about it's history which Addis is changing.

Ground-based validation is crucial ! Alastair Wills at @nottspollen.bsky.social shows how pollen-based vegetation reconstuctions (from 4 different models !) compare with vegetation survey data for SE Australia.

Well done Alastair on this pollen modelling overload for the #QRA2026ADM audience!
