The wiring in Hornby's sentinel is quite fragile so I've removed the DCC socket and hardwired the chip to prevent further breakage

People like me mount their Cobalt iP Digital point motors on 3mm ply with a terminal block. Then the whole pre-wired assembly can more easily be fixed under the baseboard, and moved later if required.
