Today is for #oddcouples and I found a fitting one on #RathlinIsland last year. A Lesser(?) Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus) trying to steal away a Common Guillemot (Uria aalge), while the rest of them just looks on. Enjoy!

Last year I did some volunteering for the @rspb.bsky.social on #RathlinIsland, Northern Ireland. As it was spring time, there was lots of bird activity. Thought this European Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis) was a nice pick for #birdoftheday. Enjoy!

The cormorant is still fighting an uphill battle for a good reputation... And this picture doesn’t exactly help! It’s easy to see why some people aren’t too fond of these misunderstood birds. But trust me, there’s more to these water-loving creatures than meets the eye.
