*the generous usage of the word “restored” implies expertise and skills where there were in-fact none — but it feels good.

Not everything sustainable has to look futuristic.

Sometimes it looks like an old house still standing, still working — just a little wiser now.

Solarpunk isn’t about replacing the world.
It’s about healing what’s already here. 🌱

"If it breaks, replace it"— unlearning that default is harder than it sounds.

How much of our behavior is shaped by the assumption that “newer = better”?

I want to remind myself of the feeling of “aichaku (attachment).”

It's my day off.

I was finally getting around to repairing the doorbell and found something that wasn't the problem, but is a problem.

The old strap, with a fix I attempted earlier. Of course, the strap was too short and resulted in a lopsided hammock. A coiled grey or tan strap with a small, dark fabric loop at one end, resting on a pillow with a red and grey plaid pattern.

My favourite hammock for on our balcony broke and landed me on my ass, last month. Just got around to fixing it with parts of a new lashing strap that's rated for much more weight than me. The hammock itself is still in good shape, so this should last me some […]

Same sleeve but on the left side there's now a new rectangular red patch outlined in thick white stitches! The red patterned fabric has sort of vaguely neuron/mushroom shapes laid out geometrically.
