HMCS Tuna was a #steamYacht that was converted into a #RoyalCanadianNavy #torpedoBoat. She was the first #turbine-powered steam yacht ever built. She was built in #London, England in 1902 as #Tarantula for Colonel #HarryMcCalmont. He died soon after she was completed.

My 17 year old father’s passport photo - the head and shoulders of a young man in a Royal Navy uniform. ********** The only son of a WWI army hero and London Metropolitan policeman, he was fast-tracked at 17 into the navy in 1943 as a radio operator with a forecasted life expectancy of 2 weeks.
