Both sides took hits but the destruction of the Japanese Battleship Asahi early on swung the game in favour of the Russians.

Obsolete by the turn of the 20th century, Matsushima played a limited role in the #RussoJapaneseWar 1904-5. She was present at the blockade of Port Arthur and the battle of Tsushima Strait, but did not contribute much more than fire support, and was quickly put out of action by enemy fire. 6/7
