#SHOTY Fife school house. I like the moody colours but too many zany objects- I don't like kitschy Victorian pictures of insects- too much like a museum. Nowhere for the eye to rest. Overload.

#SHOTY Edinburgh bungalow taught me about Slow Design. Liked the exposed timber but far too many patterns & colours. Again, trying to force indoor- outdoor connection in the Scottish climate! Don't think the owners even liked it.

I had missed #SHOTY East. First, the Basil Spence house. I like the colours in the Deco part. Too many kitsch objects again & garish jungle bathroom wallpaper, though. Extension looks like a shop floor, also. I bet it's frigid in January. Owners from abroad seem to go for that.

#SHOTY Hilltop House. The open plan layout with ice cream pastels might work in California but looks baltic in Aberdeenshire. So many SHOTY properties look like high end shops, not homes.

Immediately took against the owners because of the hideous war plane paintings I've often seen here in RAFTown.

Just watched #SHOTY final. All abt an arms race 'Grand Designs' idea that if you throw masses of money creating a warehouse space you can win. And so much over-decoration, kitschness & OTTness in the final. A predictable, wearisome winner; and only one redeeming home in the final (An Cala Cottage).

Just caught up with the final of #SHOTY. Really, of all the fab houses, they picked that one as the winner? It was ok, but it had made such little impact on me, I ended going back and watching the episode and still couldn't remember it.
