Pixel art of two Project Orion spacecraft, with the Moon in the background. The spacecraft in the background is entirely white except for a red band around the midsection, and is carrying several white cylindrical fuel tanks. The spacecraft in the foreground is all white, and has a small crew transport docked vertically to its dorsal side. The nosecone of the spacecraft is open, and a small tug is loading cargo into it.

#SST2025 book haul (plus Soskice’s Naming God — I already have it but wanted another copy; Wolfe’s The Theological Imagination; and Wells’s Constructing an Incarnational Theology to be delivered). Restraint in book buying isn’t virtuous, right?

Can I call myself a Barbie theologian yet? #SST2025

Practical theology pals: the future of our field looks bright. At #SST2025, so impressed by how many contributors are taking the risk of being theologians and pushing theology forward…

A full and inspirational day so far at #SST25 #SST2025 - Margaret. kamitsuka’s plenary paper on deferred desire, skilfully integrating John 20, Song of Songs, and artistic portrayal of Mary meeting the Risen Jesus left much to ponder on.

Loved @markdruss.bsky.social on whiteness, Quakerism and rediscovering the trembling body. Provocatively challenging and prophetic in his approach to thinking about whiteness and theology #SST2025

And that’s #SST2025 kicked off! It was a pleasure to be the respondent for tonight’s plenary paper, focussing on gender, the Eucharist, and trauma theology. Now time to chill out and enjoy the theological conversation… until my Barbie paper on Wednesday!

Fab first day at #SST2025 with a paper on the Eucharist and trauma by David Grumett and a brilliant response from my wonderful PhD student @revdwillrm.bsky.social

More flesh and blood theologies tomorrow…

I love the feeling of inspiration when, after months of thinking "I've nothing to say", a conference paper proposal suddenly flows onto the page. A great way to begin the new academic term! #theology #phd #SST2025
