With permission from the new Braemore estate owners, Scottish Wildlife Trust, our volunteer Neil tidied up and repainted this old estate signpost and affixed three smart new signs at this important junction between #ScottishHillTracks routes 312 and 313.
A paved track. Trees mostly shade the track and there is a stone cross in the distance.
An often-overlooked area of Scotland, the Central and South-West Borders boasts several great routes included in #ScottishHillTracks.
This week we’re highlighting SHT route 30, Tibbie Shiels Inn (St Mary’s Loch) to Etrick Valley.
A scotways sign lush green ferns, trees and grass cover the hillside behind.
A scotways sign points along a path that weaves its way up to a saddle between two hills. A small road bends right out of view.
This week’s #FingerpostFriday comes from a scenic sign pointing towards Glencoe which also points along the two options for the last leg of #ScottishHillTracks route 138. ⛰️
Alternatively, the two routes can be combined for a classic circuit.

Here’s some #FingerpostFriday inspiration for the summer! 🌞 Volunteer Rod recently replaced our missing sign at Diabaig in #Torridon, it points along the stunning coastal #ScottishHillTracks route 306.
Does anyone know where our old sign from this location has ended up?
On Saturday Scotways Volunteer Colin featured on BBC Radio Scotland 🎙, talking about the Elsick Mounth route and its rich history. This is a #ScottishHillTracks and also a #HeritagePath as well.

A big #FingerpostFriday thank you to volunteers Geoff (pictured) and John for replacing our sign at Calvine near #BlairAtholl in #Perthshire, the start of the Minigaig Pass, route 203 in #ScottishHillTracks. The old one was in poor condition and rather hidden, the new one is much clearer! ✔️🌟
A green metal sign, pointing left, with white letters “Public Footpath to Glenmore Lodge by Ryvoan and Braemar by the Lairig an Laoigh”. There are Scots Pine trees in the background.
A green sign on a grey signpost, standing to the right of a track which leads through a pine forest.
It’s #InternationalDayofForests as well as #FingerpostFriday. Our sign at Nethy Bridge points the way along #ScottishHillTracks route 207 through the amazing @rspbscotland.bsky.social #Abernethy Forest.
