A workshop bench with 15 jars of powdered dye for wool and silk. Most are Landscape dyes but the indigo dye is from Gaywool. The Landscape dyes feature a kookaburra (original colours) or a platypus (elements series) on their labels, while the Gaywool label features a spinning wheel. Bottles and tools are visible behind the stacked dyes.

26 small handspun skeins of fine Shetland in a pile - all are undyed creamy-white, and they’re displayed on an orange and green woven cloth. They’re mostly 3 ply yarns, and are all fingering weight. Spun on a one-of-a-kind Majacraft wheel. Each skein is roughly 20g, so there’s more than half a kilo of yarn in this pile.

1892 The Butterick Book of Knitting has a pattern for “Ladies’ Knitted Square Shawl” in Shetland Wool. This is the earliest pattern I’ve found so far. The layout of the pattern is a bit odd, but the construction is quiet straightforward #shetlandwool #haps #vintageknitting 🧶
There's a mill in Shetland that still produces the cobweb yarn. I may make it a goal for this year to get some and try my hand at knitting one of these shawls. I believe Ravelry has patterns for them.
