I may have overdone it #simnelcake

I think that when my Mum makes #SimnelCake there’s a layer of marzipan cooked inside the cake, but the layer on top - and the balls - only go on after it’s out of the oven and cooled.

I followed a recipe for #SimnelCake in BBC History magazine. If I make it again in the future I’ll do unbaked marzipan balls and juicier dried fruits.
