Another joyous experience with our Food Club (like a book club but for food) at Anajak Thai. And of course, a chance to do #SimonStares at lots o food. My own particular favorites were the pork ribs and chicken wings and laab. But everything was delicious.

This #SimonStares shows just how much I've become obsessed with bagnet, a pork belly dish from the Ilocos Norte region of the Philippines. It’s created with bay leaf, Ilocano vinegar, black pepper, garlic and patis (fish sauce). The meat is boiled then deep fried. Very addictive.

We took @drterrysimpsonmd and @producergirl to @meilin21 staggeringly good @club88oficial restaurant yesterday. It was just what they and we needed while we had great conversations. This was the "Black Pepper Strip Streak" made with Australian Wagyu. Bloody delicious. #simonstares

I had another enjoyable meal with dear friends at one of my favorite restaurants in LA — Funke. I’ve found the food to be consistently delicious including the pillowy Foccacia, the prawns in a savory sauce, & of course the pastas — an agnolotti in a brown butter sauce, & cacio e pepe.

#SimonStares. Our meal at #KuyaLord. Crunchy fried lechon kawali and roasted lechon. Perfect garlic rice with a touch of chili vinegar. Terrific longganisa with a slight spiciness and sweetness. And the Arroz Caldo, a Filpino style congee, was gingery, welcoming and warming. A terrific meal indeed.

One of my favorite dishes from the Indian diaspora is South Africa’s Bunny Chow. Originally from the Durban area, it is a curry served in a hollowed out bread loaf. It’s delicious. Have you tried this dish?
