Yesterday I took a short walk along a riverbank, The path was wide and flat, perfectly accessible for wheeled mobility, except none were there because every hundred yards or so there was a kissing gate.

This is society excluding it’s own, this is the #SocialModel of disability.

I find it helpful to think about what makes divergence disabling rather than simply different. The #SocialModel of disability argues it is the ways we organise work, institutions, norms etc that make it more or less easy for people to thrive

All depends on how one approaches the concept of 'disability'. I'm a #SocialModel guy - autism isn't a disability, but nor is paraplegia. Those are conditions, which give rise to impairment (difference in function tending to detriment in society), which lead to disability (disadvantage in society).
