A lovely surprise from my wife - a first edition Book of Spiders by W. S. Bristowe. This book is nearly 70 years old and is in great condition - I feel a great responsibility to keep it that way.

Gorgeous female brazilian jewel tarantula. her legs and cephalothorax are teal and her bulbous abdomen is pink and yellow with black stripes. The fur on her upper legs is white.

This is the Brazilian Jewel Tarantula.
Typhochlaena seladonia is an arboreal species. Unfortunately, it's not legal to keep these in the US. Otherwise I know what my next spood would have been.
