I think no. Here the rivalry seems rooted in a lack of proper communication rather than outright mean spirited competition like in #StoryOfMinglan.

Yes it feels a little bit like HouMingHao must have felt being thrown in this mess of a family. As I love story with many househoukd members like #TheSwordAndTheBrocade or #StoryOfMinglan I'm used to know nothing in the start and constantly feeling confused about who's who..

Omg, the way Minglan chastises her father in Ep. 65 of #StoryofMinglan was exhilarating!! Every word stings! Gosh, all these clever/witty/nasty dialogues, they're probably the best ever written ones! Can't wait to see the ending! Best family saga I've ever watched.

I've done 7 episodes of #StoryofMinglan and am glad to say I'm totally invested in the story. The pacing is just right with angsty twists and turns; the acting is great (little Minglan is a shining star and I adore the grandma!)& the themes are promising.

Funnily FLs mother's name is Minglan. Makes me always smile...

It is a great ensemble drama which plays mostly in the large family. It reminded me about #SwordAndBrocade or a shorter version of #StoryOfMinglan.
I love the main love story arc but it is so much more..
If you like these aspects you should definitely try it!

Director and writer were also responsible for #StoryOfMinglan which is one of the best cdramas imo. Both actors had good chemistry in #ThePrincessRoyal

The other one I’m surprised/not surprised hasn’t reached a billion views yet is #StoryofMinglan - that’s absolutely a classic that ought to be on anyone’s classics list

I think sageuk dramas are uniquely good, and distinct from historical cdramas. I would side-eye anyone trying to compare #MrSunshine to #StoryofMinglan for instance.

And two of my fave modern cdramas were adapted into kdrama and I couldn’t actually finish either 🤷‍♀️
