A bag full of trash (mostly plastic flowers) that was picked up around my campground at the start of my 2019 Subaru Day of Caring journey along the C&O Canal Towpath (this was at Spring Gap Campground). My Crosstrek is in the background.
My bike and most of my gear from the 2019 Subaru Day of Caring, where I rode from Spring Gap to Fifteenmile Creek campground, picking up trash along the way. Most of the trash I picked up was microplastics and cigarette butts, so it didn't take up much space (thankfully).
A black bag full of nasty trash I picked up between Antietam Creek Campground and MM71 on the C&O Canal Towpath during the 2021 Subaru Day of Caring. Most of the trash here was dog poop bags, which made me pretty angry. You bag the trash, but refuse to take it with you?
Me with the even-larger bag of trash at MM74 along the C&O Canal Towpath. In the 2 miles between 72 and 74, almost all the trash I picked up was either plastic water bottles or bags of dog poop.
Tonight's #ParkChat (which you are always welcome to join in and respond to asynchronously) was all about community service, since today is MLK Jr's birthday!
Live life in a way where you are remembered fondly, and missed deeply.
