With the local flooded fields now drying, the habitat was perfect for some of our earlier migratory birds. Great to have a Little Ringed Plover on the patch in Angmering.

Local patch visit today got me a bird species count of 22, highlights included Red Kite soaring over the meadows and first Bullfinch of the year for my patch. Also had an interesting encounter with an energetic Mink. @sussexwildlife.bsky.social @sussexornitholo.bsky.social #sussexbirds #nature
Mid-March is that frustrating “no-man’s-land” time between winter and spring, but there were nevertheless a few interesting sightings.

31 sps seen in Sussex woodland yesterday. Marsh & Coal Tits in good numbers. 2 Hawfinch & a Dartford Warbler gave good views. Fircrest's & Goldcrests were numerous as were Kites, Buzzards & Ravens. The stand out though was watching displaying Goshawks in the bright blue sky.
