I’ve been seeing the stigma/dehumanisation of ppl seriously unwell. Violations of human rights & patient/family blaming. Attitudes, language so far from trauma informed. Nobody accountable. Power differentials professionals don’t get. You don’t know if you don’t know #TZS🤷🏻♀️

When in suicidal crisis services either stepped in & took away my autonomy - ironic since at times suicide ‘seemed’ the only way of taking control of a life which felt out of control. Or they left me, not knowing what else to do. Another irony for someone with #ComplexTrauma #TZS

Evidence based treatments are crucial. But to be human & fully #present when faced with another’s #pain, suffering, confusion, #fear, anger ... to be in that space without all the answers but #compassionate presence & #curiosity. So we #heal; #hope is nurtured; lives #change #TZS
