A photograph of a speaker presenting at a University of Chicago event hosted by the Center for East Asian Studies. The speaker, a man with glasses, short black hair, and a greenish grey blazer over a checkered shirt, stands behind a wooden podium, holding printed notes and gesturing as he speaks. A microphone and laptop are placed on the podium. Behind him is a red and white banner with Chinese characters and the words 'The University of Chicago Center for East Asian Studies.' To the right, a woman with dark hair tied back, dressed in a black blazer and white shirt, sits at a table listening with her hand resting against her face. The table holds books, papers, and a pair of glasses. The background shows a large window revealing a blue-tinged evening outside, and the interior wall is paneled with warm wood tones. The photograph is credited to Xiaoyu Gao and dated February 2025.

A photograph of eight people gathered around a dining table in a modern restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a snowy landscape at night. The table is set with dessert plates featuring pink mousse domes on a bed of fruit, glasses of water and wine, and small votive candles. Some guests have their smartphones placed beside their plates. The people are all smiling or looking content. The background features large glass windows revealing snow-covered bushes and a city street with traffic lights in the distance.

It was Chicago's coldest week this winter (colder than Boston 🥶), but I enjoyed the warm hospitality of colleagues at UChicago.

A big thank you again to Yuting Dong and everyone at UChicago's Center for East Asian Studies for this opportunity to share my work.

Right before the Christmas break, I had the chance to take a trip to Beijing and Hangzhou for research and talks. Many thanks to colleagues for hosting me and inviting me to share my work. I left China exhausted but energized. Now back to writing this industrial psychology book!

#TheHumanFactor was the chapter when Suz went from scared slave, fighting to provide her fellow slaves with basic rights like food and sleep, to Rebel Leader in Chief. Despite it looking as though she is working with the Daleks, truthfully she is keeping hope alive of a rebellion.

Part Two of #BigFinish's #DalekEmpire series, #TheHumanFactor proves that Part 1 was no fluke. This kept me fully engaged throughout and has convinced me that a TV spin-off about a rebellion may be a good approach at having #TheDaleks still involved in the new era, but not on DW.
