#MichaelLucas shared this wonderful portrait of #JoannaWerner in her librarian’s get-up on his Twitter and Instagram.
Indeed the transformation was incredible, and I bet Joanna loved the opportunity to sit in the make-up chair, rather than a director’s chair, for a change! 😉❤️🌟📚👩🏼

Do you remember the curly-haired librarian who helped Helen find information about behavioural therapies at the State Library of Victoria?
She was played by #JoannaWerner; a fantastic way to bring this incredibly important member of #TheNewsreader’ s family to the screen ❤️🌟📚
Ms #JoannaWerner has done so much behind the scenes for #TheNewsreader as our show’s producer, but did you know she had a small onscreen role too?
Find out about her being a librarian, and further explore The State Library of Victoria, in today’s post!

When Dad and I stepped into this library space in November 2025, we were in absolute awe of how beautiful and huge the place was. We sat at the desks just like Helen did and walked the whole span of the room, making yet another #TheNewsreader dream of mine come true! ❤️📚🌟
The magnificent, grand room #HelenNorville researches behavioural therapies from is the La Trobe Reading Room; a section of the State Library Of Victoria.
Opening in 1913, this space holds 32,000 books! ❤️📚🌟

For the next instalment of #TheNewsreaderOnLocation, put your library card in your wallet, and grab your book bag!
We are heading to the State Library Of Victoria, just like #HelenNorville did in S03E03! ❤️📚🌟📺

We had gelatos at The Observatory kiosk, and enjoyed a stroll by Ornamental Lake; a much needed escape from concrete jungles.
Thank you to #TheNewsreader for introducing the Botanic Gardens and Observatory to this New South Wales gal. I hope to come back someday soon! 💙🌟📡📺
Do you remember when Dale interviewed elderly sisters Ruth and Avis about their memories of the 1910 Halley’s Comet?
The Rose Pavilion is in the background, and this is in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne, just like The Observatory!

It was truly a joy to ‘touch grass’ and visit Melbourne Observatory and the Royal Botanic Gardens in November 2025!
These are a scattering of memories from my visit, including yet another #TheNewsreaderOnLocation! 💙🌟📡

Light pollution from the city lead to the Observatory being decommissioned from official government work in 1945.
Today, it is a part of the Royal Botanic Gardens of Melbourne, has been heritage listed, and you can even book tours! 💙🌟📡

The main Observatory building, comprising of 12 rooms, was built between 1861 to 1863 (Open House Melbourne pamphlet, 2020), and was an operational observatory from 1863. Between 1863 and 1902, an extra ten rooms were added.

It was truly impressive standing in front of the Melbourne Observatory; where key scenes from S01E02 of #TheNewsreader were filmed!

Tim and Ross had positioned themselves in front of the Magnet House, which was built in 1877. It measured changes in the earth’s magnetism on the hour, however in 1910, when electric trams came to St Kilda Road, the facility had to close.

We stayed at Vineland, went to Dimmeys and explored Langtree Avenue.
I hope I one day get to visit Mildura again, but I am grateful that we got to spend some time there in August last year, and that I have made some of my Season One location dreams come true ❤️🌞📺

The third and final stop of my #TheNewsreader trip of Mildura; what it was like staying in a motel on the same street as the Kar-Rama, and general recollections of our time there in August 2025! ❤️🌞📺

As for the real Parry’s Pest Control, it still operates out of Darwin under the new name Quack.
It has a terrific tagline: “All Our Patients Die!” 😂

Our second stop on our #TheNewsreader trip of Mildura takes us to Parry’s Pest Control, their neighbours’ place, and a network war that would ensue!
These stunning houses were side by side in a beautiful leafy street in Mildura.

After seven months since my holiday, at last I’m adding Mildura to my #TheNewsreaderOnLocation series!
Step back to February 1986 and August 2025 with me, as we visit the Kar-Rama Motel together, as seen in S01E03 of #TheNewsreader ❤️🌞📺

Two years since the most special opportunity and gift I have ever been given - the day I visited the newsroom set of #TheNewsreader.
What an honour it was to step through those doors and be embraced by those wonderful telly people. A memory I'll always treasure 💖

Made the sweet discovery that I pretty much own the same headphones as #DaleJennings!
They are Philips branded, and used to be my Dad's go-to headphones for years until he couldn't find replacement pairs anymore. These are the last we have left ❤️

As the Berlin Wall collapsed, the public image and control of some Australian media personalities went through a great fall too, leading to a need to find one’s power and truth from within.
The finale and S03E06 of #TheNewsreader - The Fall - aired one year ago today.

The lady with the pram was wearing some awesome purple scrunch boots, which were the very boots I wore with my extra costume too!
They were super comfortable and looked awesome on both of us.
Looks like those boots were made for walking, all over the globe 😉💜

A whole crew of extras were hired to play German soldiers and German citizens, and as with everyone else who has appeared on #TheNewsreader, they were costumed exquisitely by #GypsyTaylor and her costuming team, as seen in these photos shared by #TaylahMiller ❤️🌟
