A patch of two types of flowers on long stems with tiny fluted purple flowers at the tops. The bunch on the left has spade-shaped leaves that cluster in a sort of spiral pattern, and the bunch on the right has ruffly round leaves that surround the stem, like one of Henry VIII's ruffs.
The purple deadnettle isn't far behind!
Here's a patch of both, side-by-side - deadnettle on the left, with the spade shaped leaves, and henbit on the right, with the round ruffly ones.

Closeup of some flowers on long stems, with ruffly round leaves going around them at intervals. The flowers are at the tops, in clusters. They are light pinkish purple in color, and some appear to have white spots.
Since the ground was soft, again, I went out and dug out some more dock from the side yard (a Sisyphean task), and in the process, discovered that the henbit is blooming!
