Design panel advances parklet standards as downtown business owners warn of lost parking, safety risks San Clemente’s Design Review Subcommittee reviewed proposed standardized parklet designs for Avenida Del Mar and Avenida Victoria and heard sustained public comment from business owners who said existing parklets block storefronts, create safety and ADA hazards, and have uneven enforcement. Staff will revise standards and return to the subcommittee for a special meeting before council consideration.
