In May, we marked the 80th anniversary of #VEDay with a special service in the Abbey.
The service began with a two-minute silence as the nation paid tribute to all those, who, both on the fighting fronts and on the home front, gave so much to protect our freedom and shared values.

Was pleased to see this display in an empty shop window in town earlier today. A nice gesture, but I'm puzzled by the use of the soldier silhouette - the shape references some well known First World War memorials, and isn't particularly fitting for a #WW2 anniversary. #VEDay #VJDay
