My students' responses to our #ValentineASpecies discussion make me so happy. They had to write a "roses are red" poem about an animal, then riff on their classmates' poems. Some wrote limericks. Some made Valentine's cards. Most looked up a behavior they didn't know about and learned something new.
I added silly weekly discussion boards to my classes during COVID to combat the isolation of being online. I kept them in my F2F classes because they're fun.
This week's was #ValentineASpecies ("roses are red" poems about animals). The results are 100% the serotonin boost I needed this week.
