(book review) Best Laid Plans The premise drew me in, appealing to me in several ways. (Yes, I actually read the blurb.) Callie and Brad Thompson have been married for more than twenty years and have raised their kids. As empty nesters, the question of what comes next for them lingers. This may not be me yet, but my days are numbered, so I had to read this. For research purposes, of course! 'I haven’t shared my feelings with Brad. His job is stressful, and I don’t want to add to it.' -- Callie Thompson I love Callie's plans and mishaps. Her heart is in the right place, even when it seems like the universe is conspiring against her. Brad's initial reaction is... something. I love how they balance each other and really start to open up about everything. I found it to be a heartwarming, funny, and delightful read. I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrator, Vera Lynn Floyd, did a good job narrating this funny, sometimes chaotic, and steamy book. Story: 4 stars Narration: 3.5 stars Listening Speed: 1.8x
