Closing out a bucket-list day by having supper in a 19th-century pub still lit by gaslight, which makes my #victorianist heart go pitter-patter. (Am I overpaying for supper? Yes, probably. But the food isn't the point here.)

Question for #victorianist twitter: Is there a standard popular early or mid nineteenth-century guide for gem or jewel emblems / symbolism? Language of flowers easy to find, but is there an equivalent of language of gemstones? #twitterstorians
