Absolutely brilliant night last night #wassailing with #Conwy Orchard Community. And it was all done on declaimed land, brought back into use by volunteers. And there was mulled #cider made from the orchard's apples too! #history #pagan #celts #Wales

I’ve been #Wassailing today. With two groups of morris dancers we processed through the park to the orchard. We invoked a good crop, sang, put apple cake in the trees for the birds, and dowsed the roots with cider. Then the trees were bashed to scare away any bad spirits, along with lots of noise.
