There was a shift. Did you feel it too? There's no going back. I can't unsee what I've now seen. I can't unknow what I now know. Nothing will ever be the same. I've been grappling with this new ugly reality while simultaneously making my world small. So small that I'm with safe people only. Some people aren't safe anymore. I'm starting to realize they never were but it still feels like a betrayal. I'm sickeningly angry. I'm so f'ing sad. My nervous system is a wreck but I have to find moments of calm. I can't do this again. I can't wake every morning, reach for my phone and bring my hands over each new outrage. I will make it but only because of other women who woke with me and sobbed in the shower as their hopes swirled down the drain and then went to work or sat in their cars or called their sister or laid on the couch but somehow kept going. Because that's what women do and we have no other choice.
My therapist on Tuesday implored me to not give up & succumb to my illness & despair from #Trumpism, & quoted from, 'The Last of the Mohicans.'
"You're strong! You survive! You stay alive, no matter what occurs!" This is LOVE.
