That it's all tied to an exploration of self-acceptance as non-humans, the acknowledgement that mutants have to make their own rules, & the decoupling of sexuality from the drive for interconnectedness & care, is brilliant in ways that bring me back to this fiction again & again. Asexuality is rarely so intimately explored. AND This fic isn't all introspection! There's also the extreme contrast of the turtles' love for each other with the violence of the sex-trafficking rings.
