A photography of a recessed skylight in the pedestrian tunnel connecting South Kensington Tube Station to some Museums and Gallery spaces in London. The light itself is leaded and lozenge shaped and large. Also visible is brickwork and exposed reinforcement that forms part of the structure alongside tiling that is part of tunnel wall itself. Its recessed nature gives the photograph and the space itself contrast in terms of light and shadow. The blue sky is visible. I imagine this more pronounced still when originally constructed and commercial strip lighting not a thing. C.1907.
