A narrow brown trail marker stacks several visual messages on each other. From Government Canyon State Natural Area, April 10 2026. At the top, an image of a cloud and falling rain over cracked ground might suggest the name of the trail, "Recharge Trail". Below that, a right-pointing arrow; maybe that's where the trail really begins. Below that, the number 1; I don't know why. Below that, 4 symbols mentioned in the post: 2 hikers with walking sticks, one tall and one small; an unridden bicycle; a seated dog, connected by a leash to a standing human, crossed out in red; a "Trail Courtesy" triangle, with arrows showing how 3 kinds of trail users (bicycles, hikers, horse riders) should yield to each other. Probably the yield sign is meant to help resolve traffic conflicts. On a Friday afternoon, I saw no bicycles, no horses, no other humans, so I didn't get a chance to test the plan.

Signage can be tough to interpret. Maybe the symbol at the bottom (you might have to click) means "Horses win." The one with the red line maybe means "Leashed dogs must not sit on trail." Warnings to watch for riderless bicycles rolling by, or short hikers sneaking up?

The flag hanging in the tree is the Intersex Progress Flag which is the newest progress design (2021 by Valentino Vecchietti) based off the original Rainbow Pride flag (Gilbert Baker 1978). The flag is hanging in reverse and upside down in this image.
